W&T Contracting Corporation was founded in 1997 by Willie Richards, when he decided to pursue his entrepreneurial goals.
The original concept was to assist home builders with providing individual waste water systems. Our father mastered this process and was instrumental in installing over 10,000 individual waste water systems throughout the Greater Mid-South.
Willie retired in 2011, passing the entrepreneurial spirit to his two sons. Since that time, W&T Contracting Corporation has been steered by Wiley and Terrell Richards. Under their leadership, W&T Contracting Corporation has expanded service offerings and operations by focusing on large scale projects with municipal and commercial clients.
Our Team is trained in processes to possess full capability to perform site utility construction as well as Field Services, which includes CCTV of Sanitary Sewer, Water Main & Storm Water Pipelines, and geo-spatial data collections.
Prioritizing safety is one of the most important components to being successful in the construction industry. W&T Contracting Corporation adheres to all OSHA Protocols through our Safety Department that reports directly to Terrell and Wiley Richards. Our Team members are required to attend regular training, safety meetings, and maintain appropriate certifications.

““The City of Piperton, Tennessee has worked with a number of local contractors on various municipal Capital Improvement Projects over the years, but the City’s first experience with W&T Contracting Corporation was in 2019. W&T was awarded a contract to install 1,556 linear feet of 12-inch water main along an existing residential street in September of 2019, and the project was completed on-time and within budget. W&T was very responsive during and after installation. Prior to award of the contract, the City contacted other agencies who have engaged the services of W&T, all of which gave high recommendations for their work. The City of Piperton will encourage W&T to continue bidding on its projects in the future.”
